Li-FePO4 Batteries! 12 volt 100 ah 32 lbs, 1500 to 3000 life cycles @ 90% discharge. Size 8 3/4" length x 6 3/4" width x 11 1/2" height Li-FePO4 batteries have several advantages: They have a higher energy density than most other types of rechargeables. This means that for their size or weight they can store more energy than other rechargeable batteries. They also operate at higher voltages than other rechargeables, typically about 3.7 volts for lithium-ion vs. 1.2 volts for NiMH. This means a single cell can often be used rather than multiple NiMH cells. Li-FePO4 batteries also have a lower self discharge rate than other types of rechargeable batteries. This means that once they are charged they will retain their charge for a longer time than other types of rechargeable batteries which can lose anywhere from 1-5% of their charge per day, (depending on the storage temperature) even if they are not installed in a device. Li-FePO4 batteries will retain their charge even after months of storage. Li-FePO4 batteries can be smaller, lighter, have a higher voltage and hold a charge much longer than other types of batteries. Cells can be replaced easily, so you save money replacing only cells instead of whole battery when only one cell is bad. Effiency Does Matter! Compare the Kool Rig systems efficiency to other units to see just how little of power our hybrid unit really uses. The Kool Rig unit runs between 210 watts to 546 watts for 5,300 - 12,300 BTU's of cooling and up-to 754 watts for 4,400 to 18,000 BTU's of heating.
